Trivia[]
Animated mugshot
- That description just makes it blatant; these two are a parody of the lead characters from Interstate '76, a vehicular combat game released in March 1997. If one waits on the choose car screen (featuring their Dodge Charger), the profile picture flickers and they become simple polygon people - this is what Groove Champion and Taurus looked like in that other game!
- Carkey & Clutch (Khaki and Crutch in the PlayStation version) get their names from Starsky & Hutch, a popular TV detective duo in the 1970s who would race around in their distinctive Ford Torino. In Carmageddon, however, they drive a 1969 Chrysler Dodge Charger 500. The Ford Torino shares the Charger 500's distinctive headlight design.
- The cow horns on the front of the Barger recall those adorning Boss Hogg's Cadillac Coupe DeVille in the late 70s/early 80s American TV series The Dukes of Hazzard. The Dukes themselves drove a Dodge Charger, albeit a different model to the Barger, known as The General Lee.
- Khaki & Crutch may be the Playstation counterpart for Agent Orange, since they drive a dark car with the number 12 on it.
- Khaki & Crutch's ride appears to be a heavily armoured late 70s Dodge Monaco.
- The Stodge Barger does appear in the PlayStation version, but it's driven by Billy Joe Jim Bob!
- Carmageddon: TDR 2000's Husky is another reference to Starsky & Hutch.
- In the Splat Pack Demo, their name was Tortoise and Chump, and their shortname was Afro Boys.
