Trivia[]
Valhalla is the food hall of the afterlife in Norse mythology. Hell is a less pleasant place to end up.
Val's car from the intro of the first game is different too. The front scoop had a smaller skull instead of the hood scoop being the skull. The design seems slightly skinnier in the middle. Also, the spikes on her wheels are only in the rear and not on both the front and rear. This design was also used in a few cover art designs for the second game.
Val"s Cleaver from the intro of Carmagddon
Val is short for Valerie. Her look in the Carmageddon artwork is clearly based on Charlotte Rampling in the 1974 movie, "The Night Porter".
The Cleaver looks like it was a large sports coupé such as the Marcos LM or Dodge Viper, once upon a time.
The Cleaver is shown on the US cover of Carmageddon II, despite not appearing in the game, though appearing in the first game's intro.
This version of the Cleaver, and in the intro movie to the original game, is a very different vehicle to the in-game model. Among other changes, the front lights and grille are positioned differently, the side has exhaust vents and the cabin is mounted deeper into the bodywork. It appears to be based upon 1930's luxury cars like the Mercedes-Benz 500K or Bugatti Type 55.
For Reincarnation, Val has gained a tiny Chihuahua called HellHound. It wears a Nazi cap and armband.
The appearance of Val Hella is a reference to 1974 film Il portiere di notte.
In Crashers, Val tutors the player. Also when starting off Crashers for the first time, Val temporarily gives you the fully upgraded Cleaver during the player's first duel against Max Damage and his Tez Eagle.
